✈️ 1. Via Kos Island (The Fastest & Easiest Route)

This is the recommended route for almost all international visitors.

Step 1 — Fly to Kos International Airport (KGS)

Kos has direct flights from:

  • Most major European cities (seasonal)
  • Athens (year-round)
  • Thessaloniki (seasonal)

Step 2 — Transfer to Mastichari Port

Distance: 10 km
Time: 15–25 minutes
Options:

  • Taxi (fastest and easiest)
  • Public bus (limited schedule)

Step 3 — Ferry from Mastichari to Kalymnos

Duration: 20–30 minutes
Ferries operate daily, with increased frequency in summer.
Arriving port: Pothia (Kalymnos Town)

🚢 2. Direct Ferry to Kalymnos (From Athens & Nearby Islands)

Although less common, Kalymnos is connected directly by ferry to:

  • Duration: 8–10 hours
  • A good option if you prefer sea travel or cannot find suitable flights.
